Spiritual Care for People at End of Life

In this session we will explore what it means to be “spiritual beings” as an integral part of our humanity, how dying is both a spiritual and physical event, some of the common causes of emotional and spiritual distress, how we might identify when a person is in emotional and spiritual distress, and some ways of being with someone that might ground them and bring comfort / relief / closure emotionally and spiritually as they die. This will include some consideration about faith and cultural based rituals and beliefs for the dying and their families.
