Sarah Pailthorpe

I have been a yoga and meditation teacher for over 10 years and Thai massage therapist for 6.  Before this I was a support worker for many years working with people from all over the world  with complex trauma and ptsd.  I have extensive experience of working with people both 121 and in group settings.  My interest in death and dying began through my own personal experience and confrontation with death and dying and this has been deepened  by my yoga and meditation practice thoughout the years.   I  believe that if death were more open in society  it could change how we all live and connect with each and the world around us.  As a result of all of this  I have set up a  death cafe in Brighton with other doulas and have facilitated conversation on death with  groups of people in cancer recovery and  people with terminal diagnosis and facilitated conversation on death within the NHS mental health team in Brighton.    I have supported family though death and dying and am currently supporting a friend processing aggressive cancer treatment and recovery and facing  their own mortality.   I am doing the diploma with Living Well Dying Well, I am a doula in training.
