More about me

I am a London-based End of Life Doula, working primarily in North London, Hertfordshire, and the surrounding areas. Born and raised in Sweden, I spent much of my twenties studying and working in the United States before moving to the UK to pursue a PhD. Along the way, I also spent extended periods in South Africa and Bulgaria, experiences that fostered a lifelong appreciation of different cultures.

Before training as a Doula, I taught international relations and community mediation skills, including Nonviolent Communication (NVC). Since childhood, I have been passionate about reading and writing, which led me to complete an MA in creative nonfiction writing when my children were young. In addition to my Doula work, I also work for a Swedish book publisher.

Caring for my grandmother at the end of her life inspired my journey to become a Doula. It showed me the potential for peace and healing as death approaches, and highlighted the importance of creating a safe, compassionate, and empowering environment for people at the end of life, while also supporting those who are important to them.

Thanks to my work as a Doula and my role as a dementia befriender for Age UK, I have gained a deep understanding of person-centred, human rights-informed dementia care. I draw on my facilitation skills and NVC background to empower people living with dementia to be seen and heard for who they truly are; not defined solely by their diagnosis. I also support healthcare workers, caregivers, and family members in recognising the uniqueness of each person living with dementia.
