I am an end of life doula in training. I’m looking forward to working through the Diploma and through real life learning. I have had a lot of lived experience of end of life care, 4 family members and 2 close friends. I first heard about end of life doula’s years ago when my interest was piqued. After I finally left a very long career in film and television I decided to change direction and embarked on the doula Foundation training. I am also a trained volunteer at Princess Alice Hospice and at MeadowHouse Hospice, have attended Death cafes and would like to start one locally as well as encourage people in my community to consider the empowering process of advanced planning
I am a firm believer that everyone has the right to the best possible journey at the end of their lives – a journey they are in control of , and supported throughout. I also know from experience that it can be equally essential to support immediate family and close friends.
As a person I am open , non judgemental , have an engaging sense of humour , am not religious but have an interest in and respect the many different views and approaches to life. Mostly I have huge faith in the power of nature .
