At the heart of my work is a belief that each of us deserves to be supported and cared for in the way that feels right for us, especially towards the end of life when we may be unable to express our own needs.
As a doula in training I am available to offer practical and emotional support to you and those important to you, when you are becoming less well. This includes being the point of contact for healthcare appointments, advocating for your needs with your healthcare team if needed; conversations with you about wishes and preferences around your care and where you want to be at the end of your life; guidance on advanced care planning; practical support in the home including preparing a meal; doing housework or walking the dog; helping families through the formalities when someone has died including registration and funeral planning.
In 2022 I completed the Foundation Training, the first step to becoming an end of life doula, with Living Well Dying Well. Over the last six years, I have worked part time as a healthcare support worker in hospice settings, both on the wards and more recently out in the community and gained experience in understanding what happens after death through my work with a funeral director who has a fresh approach to funerals.
Please do get in touch if you would like to talk further.
