I commenced my health care career in hospices as a non-clinical director of corporate resources, before becoming the Deputy CEO of two hospices providing EOL care. I then became CEO of a large group of nursing and care homes, focusing on strategic leadership and improving EOL care, setting a standard for each service to achieve accreditation with the Gold Standards Framework, across the group and collaborating with the NHS to provide EOL beds funded by the NHS in the Nursing homes. 14 years ago I set up my own business and am currently the Managing Director of my own Care Management Consultancy, assisting Care Services with turnaround for regulatory failings, quality improvements, training and support, including enhancements to EOL Care and strategic service development. My interest has always been improving end of life care since I commenced my career in the Hospice movement, it was a natural progression for me to complete the EOL Doula Foundation Course in April 2025 I have since changed the focus of my company to provide support using my Doula training and including EOL Care plans, Attendance Allowance applications, LPA’s, Advance Decision/statements with EOL companionship, planning and support for people who have a terminal diagnosis or who wish to make their wishes clear and known to professionals and family members, with caring advocacy for explanatory and complex conversations provided.
