As a certified end-of-life doula, I aim to give compassionate companionship and non-medical support to individuals and families and their community as they navigate death and dying and the emotions that can accompany it.
One of my earliest memories of death is seeing the light and colours and sounds of life surrounding a stranger’s loved one being carried through the streets down to the river in India.
This early experience as a young child has shaped my view that whilst each death is a uniquely personal experience, dying and death need not be shrouded and endured in silence or suffered alone.
Making myself available to be alongside as a fellow traveller in difficult times has been my profession as a psychodynamic and art psychotherapist both in private and NHS practice for over 4 decades.
I also have had the privilege to be present in and part of the profound journey through dying and death with several of my own family and friends.
