Hello! My name is Erin and I’m an end of life doula based in Manchester. In addition to my ongoing training with Living Well Dying Well, I run advance planning workshops, facilitate Death Cafes, and regularly volunteer with The New Normal, a peer-to-peer grief charity, as well as The Blue Cross, a companion animal bereavement charity.
I’ve written a lot of different chapters in my personal book of life. I’ve been a military wife, a digital nomad, an author, a head of marketing. But through each page I’ve carried a sense of my mortality, which has coloured every decision along the way. I cherish each chapter, but this one, where I serve as a death worker, is where I get to combine all my experience into one.
It was following the sudden death of my father in 2022 that I finally decided to take the plunge and begin my training. I’ve subsequently started my own organisation, The Good Mourning Society.
I have a BA in Creative Writing, an empathetic ear, and believe everyone deserves the chance to experience a good death (whatever that looks like to them). I strive to create a space for every individual and their circle where practical, emotional, and spiritual issues can be addressed. I’m particularly interested in facilitating difficult conversations, legacy projects, and helping people express themselves in ways that are as unique as they are.
